Introducing the Mx. Juneteenth Sponsorship Program

For the first time, Mx. Juneteenth is launching a sponsorship program to support the success of our fifth-anniversary celebration.

This decision was not made lightly. We recognize the exploitative nature of traditional sponsorship models, where large corporations often use financial contributions as performative gestures—leveraging sponsorships for PR gains rather than genuine community investment.

Historically, we have resisted these transactional models because liberation cannot be bought, and capital alone cannot define political action. However, we also acknowledge that sustainable movements require resources. With this in mind,

we are introducing a non-traditional sponsorship model—one rooted in solidarity, not just financial exchange.

Your investment in Mx. Juneteenth and Cleveland’s broader Black Queer communities is an opportunity to align with a liberatory political vision, rather than a corporate checkbox. Funds from sponsorships will directly support the payment of performers, accessibility accommodations, and the redistribution of resources to nonprofits, grassroots initiatives, and community members who need them most.

We invite organizations and businesses with the capacity to redistribute resources in true solidarity to support Mx. Juneteenth—not for optics, but for real impact.
