Our Mission
Mx. Juneteenth is a celebration of expressive joy and community resilience. We recognize that liberation is not only about struggle—it is also about reveling in the beauty of our existence.
As we resist the forces of settler colonialism, racial capitalism, and Christian nationalism, we refuse to sacrifice our joy. Instead, we embrace celebration as an act of defiance.
Our joy is not a distraction from our realities; it is a testament to our endurance.

Abolition & Collective Liberation
Our commitment to joy does not mean we ignore the injustices that persist. Mx. Juneteenth is deeply rooted in abolitionist principles, guided by Black Queer feminist praxis. We acknowledge the weight of the present moment and affirm that true liberation cannot be confined to electoral politics. Instead, we ground our efforts in communal care, mutual aid, radical resistance, and revolutionary education.
Joy is not a contradiction to awareness—it is an essential part of resistance. We reject the false notion that political consciousness must be devoid of celebration. Juneteenth itself was birthed in the tension between oppression and freedom, grief and rejoicing. We carry that legacy forward, knowing that we can celebrate while continuing to fight for justice.
